This is an important contract with a vehicle accessories distributor in Peru. The first container was shipped in mid-March this year. The export contract allowed us to continue supplying this product during 2022, with the expectation of continuing to expand our participation in this important market and reach other countries in the region.
The export was possible thanks to the advantage of having free trade within the Andean Community of Nations, which allowed the Ecuadorian textile industry to compete with suppliers from Asian countries, and enter without tariffs, with the logistical advantage that facilitates nearshoring in the countries of the region.
The Ecuadorian textile industry is betting on the diversification of manufacturing exports, expanding the type of products that Ecuador markets in the world, generating more jobs and foreign exchange for the country.
